Launch Party at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly
The Event
A celebration of the Hayford and Rhodes new website. We designed the flowers, we organised the event and we can’t wait to do it again. The Flowers
After such a long winter we wanted to show London that Summer was finally here. Flowers included the long-awaited Peony! (It’s great to have you back) Hydrangea, Roses, Poppies, Ranunculus and Asclepias.

Inspiration
Inspiration from the event stemmed from the Spring/Summer 2013 catwalk shows. The colours were warm peaches and corals and vivid greens with luxurious touches of hot pink.
Favourite Feature
Where do we start? Everything about this event was spectacular. The huge dome urn arrangement in the middle of the room, the flowers that grew wildly from the coffee tables or the wall installation of plants and flower heads? We’ll leave it with you to decide!
Strictly SW7 at The Science Museum
The Event
The Science Museum, Natural History Museum and the V&A joined forces in November to host the return of the celebrated showcase event Strictly SW7.
The Flowers
The Science Museum invited Hayford & Rhodes to dazzle guests with a showcase of contemporary floral displays. Working with an assortment of hot pink flowers including gladioli, roses, stock, anemones and nerimes our events team created a breath-taking 50ft table landscape of flowers.

Inspiration
Working closely with the talented production company Events TSL we focused on a vibrant colour scheme of hot pink, purple and blue.
Favourite Feature
The table landscape received huge compliments, but our favourite for the night had to be the two large focal displays at the entrance. We dressed the plinths with a mosaic of fresh flowers which took hours to complete and looked stunning. Watch out for this trend in 2013.
1920s Glamour
The Event
An intimate members party for twenty-four guests, including drinks and canapés in The Gallery followed by an evening meal in The Boardroom. Our client wanted to create a dream-like décor with a subtle 1920’s feel.
Event Flowers
To contrast with the pale green walls we opted for Coral Peonies, Miss Piggy Roses, Sweet Avalanche Roses, Peach Avalanche Roses, Muscari, Sweet Peas, Viburnum, Larkspur and Hydrangea. The table flowers were arranged in low vases to allow for easy conversation, but we created a landscape of vases on either side of the room creating an intimate atmosphere.

Inspiration
We took inspiration from the classic interior decoration and the gold colouring associated with BAFTA. We opted for bright clashing flowers, masses of crystal vases, tall cut glass candle sticks and fine gold detailing on the glasses and charger plates.
Favourite Feature
“Our guests literally gasped when they entered the room, it was like being on a movie set! The flowers looked absolutely spectacular and created such an amazing atmosphere. Thank you so much for all your hard work.”
A Summer Showcase
The Event
A summer showcase at Merchant Taylor’s Halls - a beautiful livery hall hidden behind the Bank of England. The party included drinks in the courtyard garden followed by a formal reception in the Drawing Room.
The Flowers
We chose the very finest seasonal flowers in an array of bright candy colours including hydrangeas, roses, scabious, spray roses, black berries, alliums, nigella and phlox.

Inspiration
The Dining Room has the most beautiful wallpaper we’ve ever seen and inspired the key colours in our floral decoration. Strong sugar-candy pastel colours and equally vibrant vases were the order of the day and worked brilliantly in the courtyard garden and in the Drawing Room.
Favourite Feature
The table centres created by Fiona were unbelievably beautiful and we loved the quirky look created by the fluorescent pastel bud vases.
